I first heard about Seaford's Playford Dance Group some years ago and went along with the intention of sitting quietly in a corner just watching what went on. No such luck! Thanks to some very persuasive and understanding strangers I muddled my way through most of the dances that evening, leaving the hall two hours later totally hooked.
It didn't matter that I'd gone alone because everyone was so friendly. Now I'm committed to this lovely gentle form of enjoyable exercise that is good for both brain and body, learning dances from past eras in a group where age is no barrier, everyone has great fun, and it doesn't cost very much. We even do our bit for the environment by not creating any litter and car-sharing.
The group meets on Wednesdays from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in St Peter's Church Hall, Belgrave Road, Blatchington.
